In 1830, the British Prime Minister Earl Grey received a special diplomatic gift of tea. When the tea chest was empty, distraught, he asked skilled blenders in London to recreate the distinctive taste of this delicious and exotic tea. The blend they created is known today as Earl Grey.
Bergamot (citrus aurantium), also known as Canton Bitter Orange, is grown around the Mediterranean and was probably brought from China by the silk route. The peel is cold-pressed to extract the aromatic essential oil.
Our high quality Earl Grey follows the traditional, natural recipe, containing only fine teas and pure bergamot oil. Refreshing and deliciously light.
