Pu’er - Genghis Never Left His Tent Without Some

We have recently launched the UK’s only organic Pu’er tea available in tea-bags. For over 1,000 years, Pu’er’s reputed health benefits have been recorded, including helping digestion, reducing cholesterol and increasing metabolism to reduce weight. Amongst the many sipping its natural goodness are Victoria Beckham, Texan model Jerry Hall, soul diva Joss Stone, and willowy high-kicker Uma Thurman.

Genghis Khan with his diet of meat, meat and more meat, followed by his busy schedule of marauding, could not have been a healthy man. Legend has it that Pu’er helped him with his digestion and reduced his high cholesterol from all that full-fat yak’s milk. The ever canny merchants, trading Pu’er for horses, even packed the tea in handy saddlebag-sized cakes for easy transport, a habit continued today.

Harvested and made in the Yunnan province of South West China, Pu’er is semi-fermented although the whole process of making it is - to this day - a closely guarded secret. Enjoy its dark silky aromatic characteristics and full-bodied, earthy subtly sweet flavour. Pu’er appeals to Lapsang Suchong, as well as black tea drinkers.
